Rica - REDS Industry Choice Awards

The REDS Industry Choice Awards or RICA is the only choice awards exclusively designed for the real estate industry of Saudi Arabia. The RICA is an honest attempt at celebrating the success of industry’s leading establishments that have redefined possibilities and have made a name, synonymous to success. So who better to judge, than the industry itself. Thus, RICA provides a transparent framework that allows stakeholders of real estate industry to choose the best among them, by the stakeholders themselves. So, we invite you to nominate, vote and celebrate this-one-of-a-kind award, for you, by you, to you.

Rules for Nomination

  • The nominations are open until the 14th of August 2024 mid-night (Saudi Time Zone)
  • Only one submission per email address registered is allowed
  • A submission can have nominations for minimum 1 to maximum 11 categories
  • Only one company name per category per submission will be considered
  • Only the nominations received on the official nominations page will be considered
  • Nominations of companies working on live projects in Saudi Arabia will be considered
  • No nominations from the organizing team or their immediate family members will be considered
  • The nomination process will conclude within 10 working days from 14th August 2024, post which a maximum of 5 top nominees per category will be published, based on the qualification criteria mentioned above and the number of nominations each company has received
  • Post the nomination list is published, the voting lines open
  • The nominee who receives the highest number of valid votes in each category, as determined by the administrator and as described above, will be deemed the potential winner of the category
  • The winners determined post the voting closure will be awarded at the Awards’ ceremony on the 21st of November 2024 in Riyadh, 7:00 PM Onwards
  • The organizers reserve the right, but are not obligated, to disqualify, block or remove any nominations/votes from any individual who nominates/votes by any electronic, mechanical or automated means, or otherwise tampers with the nomination/vote process, or for any other reason, as determined by the organizers in their sole discretion
  • If for any reason the nomination/voting is not capable of being executed as planned, or if there is an infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized  intervention, fraud or technical or reporting failures, or if any other causes beyond the control of the organizers is corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this voting, the organizers reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to take any action they deem appropriate or to withdraw the transmission of any vote, but are in no way obligated to do so.

With a sharp understanding of market trends and a customer-focused mindset, he integrates analytical thinking with an unwavering commitment for the hospitality industry. Hassouni has more than two decades of experience in the ultra-luxury hospitality and real estate sectors across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He previously held leadership positions and advisory roles at top-tier companies, including MEA and Indian Ocean Vice-President at Rosewood Hotel Group and Vice-President of MEA for luxury brands at AccorHotels. Hassouni also served in key roles at Jones Lang LaSalle as the Vice President of Hotels, and Senior Manager and Member of the Executive Committee at Colliers International. Joe founded JT&Partners in 2015, starting with a handful of staff in a +100sqm office in Business Bay, Dubai. The company became an “overnight success”, earning recognition as an acclaimed international multidisciplinary consultant with impressive projects located in global destinations. He creates buildings and communities that transcend design and encompass social and environmental issues. Joe, JT&Partners and its projects received awards and recognitions from Cityscape, MEA, Arabian Property, UAE Business Awards, UAP Dubai. Recent completed projects include hotels in RAK, Seychelles and Egypt. With a remarkable ability to lead diverse teams, both direct and indirect, spanning domestic and international arenas, Jacob has managed teams reaching upwards of 500 individuals. His proficiency in procurement and contracting is evident in his ability to formulate, manage, and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Dr. Francesca Arici is an Italian urban planner, urban designer and architect, with over 20 years of professional and academic experience in international working environments, based in KSA since 2018. She is currently Chief of Planning and Development at the Aseer Development Authority (ASDA). Prior to joining ASDA, Francesca held the position of Senior Director of Master Planning & Design at Saudi Downtown Company (SDC), a PIF company whose mandate is to deliver 12 mixed-use masterplans across KSA. Between 2018 and 2021 she was Planning Director and Acting Chief of County Zoning and Planning within the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), where she led the strategic regional planning of the AlUla County and the development of the local Masterplans. During her time in AlUla Francesca grew the CZP department and reported directly to the CEO as the Acting Chief. She holds a PhD in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Palermo, a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) and has lectured in a variety of institutions, including IE School of Architecture (Spain), Harvard University’s Career Discovery (US), Palermo and Alghero University (Italy). During her career she obtained several recognitions, such as a Fulbright grant, the IE award for teaching excellence as well as prizes and mentions in different international competitions.

He is currently leading high profile projects such as Armani Hotel in Diriyah Gate and Nobu Hotel & Branded Residences in Abu Dhabi. His vision is to continue to produce well-considered architecture and interiors that answer to the region’s new forward-thinking vision, whilst setting exceptional project delivery standards. His continual dedication to ongoing knowledge, research and challenge of design methodologies is channelled via his commitment to lecturing at the departments of architecture at Canadian University in Dubai. Nicholas King is the Group Chief Development Officer of Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind The Red Sea and Amaala, two ambitious tourism projects set along the northwestern coast of Saudi Arabia. These destinations will play key roles in the realization of Vision 2030, the Kingdom’s economic roadmap for the future. Nicholas joined the organization in September 2020, bringing with him more than three decades of experience in successful International real estate development. Prior to joining RSG, Nick was principal of SunCal, one of the largest private land developers in the United States. In that role he led urban development activity, as well as having a guiding hand across all projects including land developments on both coasts ranging from 2,000 to 55,000 acres. Nick had direct responsibility for the acquisition and development of numerous award-winning projects including, most recently, a three million square foot mixed-use development in the Arts District of Los Angeles designed by Herzog & De Meuron. Before SunCal, Nick operated throughout the Asia Pacific region, developing and investing in luxury residential, integrated resort, and complex mixed-use urban projects, both through his own business as well as in a leadership capacity for organizations such as ING Real Estate, Shell Real Estate and Hillwood Asia. He received his Master’s Degree in Urban Design, specializing in Real Estate Development, from Harvard University. He was awarded an MBA from the University of Chicago and completed the Global Leadership Program at IMD in Lausanne. Lee Hallman is an industry expert with 30+ years of experience in designing and delivering complex residential, hospitality, cultural, commercial, and infrastructure projects across the globe. Prior to AlUla Development Company, Hallman held the role of Director at Grafton London as well as Thornham Management where he led the development of two 1,000ha sustainable residential & hospitality resorts in Greece, a 10,000ha sustainable mountain reserve in Argentina, and a 3,000sqm grade 2 listed townhouse in London. During his career trajectory, he held several roles including Head of Design & Development Manager at Qatari Diar Europe where he contributed to the design and development of the Four Seasons Montenegro Resort & Residences, The Chancery Hotel, Chelsea Barracks, and others. He was also Senior Partner & Head of Interiors at Foster + Partners, where he spent 16 years, and Head of Design at Candy & Candy. Hallman holds a Bachelor of Architecture from University of Auckland and is a member of the Board of Trustees at Woodfield.
